Alba foodEverything begins from great grandfather Augusto, who had a big estate in the countryside between Bologna and Ferrara where were cultivated pears, peaches, apples, tomatoes and wheat.After the Second World War, Alba (Augusto's daughter) arranged, inside the estate, a small laboratory where they made in small quantities tomato purees, fruit compotes and jams using only the fruit and tomatoes left by the crops at the end of autumn, so that nothing was thrown away during those hard times . The provisions were then consumed during the rigid and snowy winters inside the estate.At that time every housewife had her own recipe to make these delicious specialties in jar. This undertaking, created for the support of all the estate, becomes more and more important until 1971 when the family decided to make it a true production activity and the company Alba srl had then started its own production business
